430 Stainless Steel Coil FAQs
1. What is the difference between 430 and 304 stainless steel coils?
Grade 430 is a magnetic ferritic stainless steel,
while Grade 304 is an austenitic stainless steel
that is generally non-magnetic when annealed.
Grade 304 typically provides better corrosion
resistance and ductility. Grade 430 may offer
a cost advantage in suitable mild environments.
Selection should depend on service conditions
and forming requirements.
2. Is 430 stainless steel coil magnetic?
Yes. Grade 430 has a ferritic microstructure
and is magnetic. This characteristic can be
useful in certain appliance, decorative
and industrial applications.
3. What thicknesses and widths are available?
Available coil dimensions depend on the rolling
condition, surface finish and material supply.
Please provide your required thickness,
width, tolerance and coil weight so that
suitable options can be confirmed.
4. Can 430 stainless steel coils be slit to custom widths?
Custom slitting requirements can be reviewed
according to material availability and
processing capability. Specify the required
width, tolerance, edge condition and coil
dimensions when requesting a quotation.
5. What finishes are available for 430 stainless steel coils?
Common finishes include 2B, BA
(Bright Annealed) and No.4 (Brushed).
Other finish requirements can be discussed
with our sales team. Availability depends
on the material condition and specifications.
6. Is Grade 430 suitable for outdoor applications?
Grade 430 performs well in many mild indoor
environments but is generally less resistant
to pitting and staining than Grade 304
in chloride-containing conditions.
It is not usually recommended for prolonged
exterior exposure without a detailed
assessment of the environment.
7. Can you provide Mill Test Certificates?
Mill Test Certificate or Mill Test Report
requirements can be included in your inquiry.
Please specify the applicable standard and
required document type. Availability and
scope of the documents should be confirmed
before ordering.
8. What is the MOQ, and can I request samples?
The currently listed minimum order quantity
is 1 metric ton. The applicable MOQ depends
on material specifications and availability.
Samples may be requested for evaluation;
sample availability, charges and shipping
terms should be confirmed in advance.
9. What payment and delivery terms are available?
Payment options such as T/T and L/C can
be discussed during quotation.
Final payment terms, lead time,
Incoterms and shipping arrangements
are subject to agreement for the order.
10. How can I request a quotation for 430 stainless steel coils?
Please provide the required grade,
material standard, thickness, width,
surface finish, quantity, destination
and any processing or inspection requirements.
Our sales team can review the specifications
and confirm available supply and quotation terms.
